The hosts of Cricket World cup 2007, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have reached a consensus on the format for the 2011 World Cup.

The format of the 2011 cricket World Cup which is to be held in Asia might undergo some changes and the number of matches may be increased to that of the 2007 tournament held in the West Indies.
PCB favours 2003 World Cup format for 2011

The Pakistan Cricket Board wants to repeat the format of 2003 World Cup in 2011 edition, which it will co-host with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
